BAKING SODA HAIR CARE BENEFITS
We are all familiar with the fact that baking soda is a very powerful cleaning agent. This is mainly because it is a mild alkali with a few abrasive compounds. Therefore, baking soda will clean your hair thoroughly and eliminate any dirt or grease. However, make sure you only apply baking soda to the scalp and not to the tips of your fingers because it has a drying effect.
BAKING SODA TO CLEAN HAIR
- 4-5 full spoons of baking soda
- 400-500 ml warm water
How to make:
First, get a squeeze bottle, for instance, an old conditioner bottle, and put the baking soda into it. Then, fill the bottle with the warm water, and shake it well.
Apply this mixture to a wet hair, but make sure you shake it before applying it so that it’s equally mixed. You should squeeze the whole bottle and cover the entire scalp. Next, rub the solution well into your scalp and leave it to work for a minute. At the end, rinse thoroughly with warm water.
However, note that you should only apply the mixture to the scalp and not to the entire hair. Therefore, you may divide your hair into sections before applying the mixture, so that you can protect your hair from drying.
APPLE CIDER VINEGAR HAIR CARE BENEFITS
Apple cider vinegar is very useful when combined with baking soda. In fact, it regulates the alkalizing effect of the baking soda due to its acidic nature and thus helps in maintaining the natural pH levels of the hair. Moreover, due to its antibacterial properties, it can destroy all the harmful bacteria, which is very useful in reducing dandruff. Also, it will keep your hair moisturized.
APPLE CIDER VINEGAR TO CONDITION HAIR
- 1 part apple cider vinegar
- 4 parts water
How to make:
All you need to do is mix both of the ingredients in a spray bottle. Then, wet your hair, squeeze the excess water, and divide it into sections. Next, spray the mixture on the entire hair from root to tip, not only on the scalp as in the first solution. Rub the mixture into your hair and let it sit for a while. At the end, use a warm water and rinse thoroughly.
Furthermore, you may want to add some essential oil due to the strong smell of the apple cider vinegar. For instance, if you have a blond hair and you want to lighten it up you may add chamomile or lemon oil. Then, if you want to stimulate hair growth, you can use peppermint oil. Also, if you want to achieve a shiny hair effect, try using rosemary oil.
