People all over the world have been finding coins randomly stuck in their car handles. Most people don’t notice them at first, because they are usually stuck in the passenger’s side door, where they don’t even see them until it’s too late.
It turns out that it’s the latest trick by thieves to gain access to your vehicle when you least expect it.
Here’s how it works: The thief jams a coin into the door handle on the car’s passenger side.
Then, they wait for the car owner to show up and follow the owner home. When the owner tries to lock the car, the mechanism fails because the passenger door handle is jammed, which gives the thief the ability to enter the car through the unlocked door.
IF YOU SEE A COIN STUCK IN YOUR CAR DOOR, HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO DO!
Be sure to check the passenger car door handle before entering your car, to check that no coin has been inserted.
Thieves have also been known to hide in the back to carjack you with this method! So it would be best to check the back seat, or even call 911 in case the thief has climbed into your trunk
