There are two types of cinnamon oil. The first one is a very strong essential oil which is made from leaves and bark of a plant through very complex procedure and the other one is extracted cinnamon oil which can be made easily.
- Pure olive oil (refined)
- Several cinnamon sticks
How to make:
Put the cinnamon sticks into a jar. Pour the sticks with pure olive oil so that they are covered completely. Seal the jar and leave it at room temperature for 3 weeks. Shake the jar every day. After 3 weeks, strain the oil through cheesecloth into a dark glass bottle. Then, you can start using your cinnamon oil. The number of cinnamon sticks is not fixed but the jar should be filled completely (at least 5-6 cinnamon sticks in half a liter of olive oil). The bigger the number of cinnamon sticks the better.
In cases you can’t find cinnamon sticks, you can use cinnamon powder in the ratio of 1: 5 in relation to oil (100 grams of cinnamon powder to half a liter of olive oil). However, we recommend cinnamon sticks because through the long process of milling a lot of its health properties are being lost.
The cinnamon oil will have a great smell and taste. The combination of the healthy olive oil and the useful healthy ingredients that a cinnamon has ,makes this combination a real elixir. Still, the best and the simplest use of cinnamon oil is to take 1-2 teaspoons, twice a day (morning and evening). You can also use this oil for external use, so, rub it on painful, inflamed or otherwise affected places.
