New Study: One Spoon Of Coconut Oil is 10 Times More Effective Than Toothpaste

There are lots of bacteria in our mouth due to the foods we consume and many other reasons. Because of that, a research was conducted by the Atholane Institute of Technology in order to discover the effects of some natural oil in bacteria found in the mouth. The results showed that coconut oil was the most effective.

Enzyme-modified Coconut Oil

Coconut oil in combination with digestive enzymes has the ability to prevent the development of bacteria commonly found in our mouth, including S. mutans.

This bacterium called S.mutans produces acid which causes the tooth to rot. Children and adults living in industrial zones are most commonly affected. Even 60 to 90% of them have this problem.

According to many  studies from the Autumn meeting of the Society for General Microbiology at the University of Warwick, coconut oil has the ability to  destroy the yeast Candida albicans (which causes thrush) when it is enzyme-modified.

We all know that manufacturers put chemical additives in the dental hygiene, so the best thing about enzyme-modified coconut oil is that it can replace those additives, especially because it works in small amounts.

Dr. Damien Brady from the Athlone Institute of Technology in the Republic of Ireland, said that we must seek for new ways to prevent antibiotic resistant microbial infection.

Moreover, they pointed out in their research the effects of digested products like coconut oil has on our gut health.

According to the statistic, human digestion products have antimicrobial activivy. It could benefit your overall gut health because bacterial settle in the cells around the digestive tract.

How To Use Coconut Oil For Better Oral Health
